Performance Analysis on the Android Platform

Performance is an issue with programming on the Android platform because of various reasons such as constrained resources and the extra abstraction layer in the form of the Dalvik Virtual Machine.
In order to gauge the performance of applications written for the Android platform we have several tools. This talk briefly outlines performance analysis using the TraceView tool provided in the SDK as well as analysing heap dumps of the Dalvik VM.
